July 26, 2017 ~ "WHEREFORE DIDST THOU DOUBT?" (Week 2)

Image
This week went by so much faster than last week! I can't believe its only my second p-day. Haha time is pretty warped here and it throws me off every day. First off, I just wanted to thank everyone who took the time to write me a letter before I left. I can't even describe the gratitude I felt as I found those sweet sentiments of love and encouragement while unpacking my suitcase. I didn't even have time to read through a ll of them in my first week!! I am so grateful to have the family and friends that I do, and to be privileged enough to have personal relationships with all of you! I am going to read those letters repeatedly throughout my mission, and cherish them forever! I have kept every card and letter I have received throughout my life; you honestly have no idea how much they mean to me. Thank You, Thank You, Thank You. ❤ I love you all so much!!! To everyone that has asked, the food here is good! Haha there are some weird combinations, but there is always...

July 19, 2017 ~ I LOVE IT HERE! (Week 1)

Image
Oh Wowwww! This has honestly been the longest and shortest week of my life. My journal entries went from " I can't believe I haven't even been here a week," (because it felt like I had been here for at least 14) to "I CAN'T BELIEVE I'VE BEEN HERE A WEEK!!" (Because it felt like three days). Haha so crazy. My flight to Mexico was great. I bonded very quickly with Hermana Ferrin because I accidentally fell asleep on her shoulder and stayed there for the entire 3 hour flight. Whoops. Haha then we turned out to be companions, which was cool because we were already well acquainted. 😉 But I am actually in a trio! So I get double the love!! We have so much fun together and we get along really well! Hermana Ferrin, who I sat next to on my flight, is from Farmington Utah and is literally the funniest/ coolest person I've ever met. She is a year older than me, and did 3 years at Weber State. All 3 of those years, she took Spanish.. so she is pret...

Hey! just wanted to let you know that I made it here safely! I haven't seen Branden yet but there is a devotional tonight so I might. love you! (Teresa's Note: We received this email from Sister Brooks on the evening of July 11. Branden is her cousin who arrived at the Mexico MTC on July 4th.) Hermana Savanna Brooks- 2nd Row, 5th from the Left My first day here, I had to drag my giant bags 2 blocks to my house. In the pouring rain. 🌦☔ Haha I got drenched. But I changed my clothes, ate an awesome dinner, then went to a great devotional put on by the MTC president. The rain doesn´t bother me 😂🌧🌈 The Welcome Committee

"It´s my favorite picture because it shows the true joy I feel out here while on my mission. I am literally laughing all the time." Sister Savanna Brooks is so excited to serve as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is assigned to labor in     California, Spanish speaking and entered the Mexico MTC on July 11, 2017. D&C 31:3 Lift up your heart and rejoice, for the hour of your mission is come; and your tongue shall be loosed, and you shall declare glad tidings of great joy unto this generation. ❤❤❤
