Oct. 23, 2017 ~ I STAND ALL AMAZED (Week 15)

Image
(Last week) was probably the best week my companion and I had as far as the numbers go: we taught over 25 lessons, found 6 new investigators and pretty much just worked, worked, worked! We have found a few other people who seem promising. Families and young people seem to be the most receptive.... Hopefully some things take off with the new people we have found the past couple of weeks. Right now I'm reading the Book of Mormon and highlighting every time it mentions Jesus Christ by name (for example, Lord, Lamb of God, Messiah, Redeemer, etc.). It's amazing to see His name highlighted on every page. My testimony about the Book of Mormon truly being Another Testament of Jesus Christ has grown immensely. (I've decided to restart in a fresh Book of Mormon every time I read it so that I don't have any previous marks from before. It's cool how different things stick out to me each time I read it.) I'm also reading the New Testament....

Hello everybody!  YES, I AM SAFE. Haha.  The fires aren’t really near me at all. But thank you for your prayers and concern.  We are actually more worried about the overdue earthquake… my town lies right on the fault! Apparently, it’s expected to be pretty big and October is earthquake month. The things going on around the world have given many opportunities to teach of the signs of the second coming of Christ and the peace we can receive through Him. So that's been cool. Things have been going well here! We are teaching lots and knocking on TONS of doors. It's always funny when someone automatically says, "no hablo Ingles" as they're closing their door, and we quickly say, "hab...

Being a missionary  during Halloween. (Notice the pass along  card that we left above  the doorknob... 😉)

Oct. 2, 2017 ~ My heart TRUSTED in Him, and I AM HELPED (Week 12)

Hello family and friends!  California is beautiful  and perfect  and I love it. ❤   We have transfers this week and I will be staying with the other sisters here! However, 3 of our 4 elders are leaving us, so I'm sad about that. I hope the new elders step up and eat my extra food while at dinner appointments, just like the past ones did. ;) They will definitely be missed!!    On Tuesday, we were getting ready to go to an appointment, when we realized that we were locked IN our house. Yes, IN. Our doorknob was completely dead. Haha we had to climb out of our window to get to the appointment. However, the last sister missionary to crawl out made the mistake of closing the window behind her… so then we couldn't get back into our house after the appointment... Even though the door was unlocked and we had the keys.  Luckily, we ate dinner with a member who had an extra doorknob laying around, and he wa...
