Mar. 5, 2018 ~ The Prophet of the Restoration (Week 34)

Hi everyone! We had a sick week this week… so we didn't do a whole lot as far as work goes. BUT... we did lots of "other" things! I feel a whole new empathy level for mothers who have to take care of sick children. Bless all of you.

1. I learned how to play Texas Hold ‘Em from the other sisters we live with. Yay for Poker.

2. We pierced my greenie/companion’s ear. I am totally "one of those moms". (She had her ears pierced before, but they had grown over.) The first time we did it, it went through crooked. Hahahaha whoops… But second time worked perfectly and now she has cute earrings and is super pleased with them. 😄

3. I have watched every movie, Mormon Message, and short film available on lds.org.

I recommend watching the 12-step to Addiction Recovery videos. They're super good.

I recommend NOT watching The Mailbox. It's heartbreaking.

4. We invested in a pull up bar. I can't use it, but it’s fun to pretend.

5. Other card games we played included Speed, 9s, and 52 card pickup.
Unfortunately, no dollar game for us... Yet. 😘

6. We had interviews with President this week. I really love him.

7. I am so happy to have received my guitar right before I spent a week in my apartment... it kept me sane. Blessings.

8. I think I forgot to tell you last week, but here is a funny story for you.  We were teaching some Vietnamese kids about Jesus and His life. We told them that Jesus died and a little 6-year old named Johnny said, "What!? Who killed him!?" And I said, "Evil men". To which he gasped and said, "DONALD TRUMP!?!?!?" Haha I laughed so hard.

Then after the lesson he said, "Next week can we talk about Martin Luther King?" Hahaha. He's the funniest and cutest little kid. He made me super happy.

9. The collection of photos I have of my companion sleeping continues to grow...

...Here she is one morning at the gym...

...Hahaha she couldn't get comfortable so she kept moving around. I was dying. 🤣🤣🤣

10. I want you all to know that I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I know that He was a man called of God to restore the true church of Jesus Christ to the earth today.  The evidence of his reality as a prophet of God lies in the Book of Mormon... For if the Book of Mormon is true, then Joseph Smith in reality did translate it with the power of God, and it truly is evidence that Jesus Christ's church has been restored on the earth today. I am grateful to be serving as a missionary for this church, the true church of Jesus Christ. I invite you all to watch "Joseph Smith: The Prophet of the Restoration" this week. (Maybe for family home evening? It's only an hour long.) Let me know what you think of it! :)
