June 19, 2018 ~ My Dad (Week 49)

Hello again!

I can't believe it's already time to write!

This week flew!

Honestly, not a whole lot happened.

Angelica didn't come to church, so we had to push her baptism date back. But she still really wants to be baptized and promised that she would come the next two weeks so she can be.

I am so grateful to be working with the members through it all because they help so much!
(Mission friends. We all went to USU!)
Please, wherever you are, HELP THE MISSIONARIES IN YOUR WARD OR STAKE! Feed them dinner and offer your home as a place for them to teach lessons. Refer them to your friends! You will never regret being the referring source for someone's eternal happiness. Help them out and I promise that they will help you in return!

I just want to wish my wonderful father a Happy Father's Day!!

You all should watch the video "Earthly Father, Heavenly Father."

My dad truly is the most amazing man I've ever met.

He is the perfect example of a priesthood holder who protects, provides, and presides over his family.

He was and still is my #1 fan...

(I think I can count on one hand the number of basketball games he missed in my life.)

(I know... he's hard to see but I always knew he was there😉)

He is always serving others and thinking about who he can help.

He is a spiritual giant (no pun intended, though he is one tall dude;), and he has a heart of gold.

AND CAN I JUST TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVE AND MISS HIS LAUGH???

(seriously. I often go to extreme lengths of embarrassment just so I can hear it.)

He is the funniest person I've ever met and is the only man I've met so far in my life who knows how to calm me down in stressful situations.

He is literally a 12 out of 10 and is continually upping that number.
He will always hold a special place in my heart.

I miss his big dad hugs more than anything!!!!

When I was a little girl, my dad would often sing us songs or tell us stories before we went to bed. Sometimes they were primary songs or stories from the Book of Mormon.

Or sometimes, he would make up his own! (For example, one of his famous songs is:" I have three little girls who are so nice. One's Alexa, one's Camilla, and Savanna eats  rice." #talent). Haha! He always changed the words to make it rhyme.

(Dad putting us to Bed...
We LOVED Bedtime!)

There is another story that he used to tell me that has stuck with me throughout my life about a baby giraffe, I often reflect back on it and the lessons it teaches…

He hopes to publish it one day...

You will LOVE it when he does!

My father is the perfect example of someone who let me grow, as he let me know that he loved me.

He is the most incredible person.

He has the kindest heart.

He is so intelligent and good with people and he is such an amazing father.

He makes me want to be a better person.

The older I get, the more I realize just how incredible my parents really are.

I feel so proud to have a dad who literally can talk about anything to anyone, and who loves God more than anything else.

The church is true! Fatherhood is SO divine.

I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who loved me enough to give me the best Earthly Father I could ever ask for.

I love you all!

Love, Hermana Brooks

(So much yellow and blue!)

(Hidden gem of lights in a parking garage.)

(The love of our lives, Alex.)

(I had to go to the bathroom so bad and we finally found a park bathroom. I open the door and see a mini toilet that barely comes up to my ankles and I said, "You've got to be joking" and I don't think I've ever seen my companion laugh so hard.)

(I don't even know what to call these things but they're pretty much statues made of sticks and there's tons and they're really cool...

And so is my comp.)
