May 28, 2018 ~ Change is hard but the gospel is so good! (Week 46)
Hi everyone!
Wow, where do I even
start?!
(Picture with Nha's sisters😃)
I guess I will start by
saying that I have been transferred! My 7 months in the same area came to an
abrupt halt this last Saturday night! A Spanish-speaking sister went home suddenly, causing a
need for somebody to take her place. Because I was in a trio and have been in
my area for so long, it made sense that I would leave. AND my greenie, Sister
Thomas, came with me! President said he didn't feel good about splitting us up,
so he moved her as well and now we are both in a new area together! This left the other sister
in our trio alone, so the companion of the sister that went home, went to my old area to be with her! So, we pretty much switched places!
I was really sad saying
goodbye to my people in my previous area. Some of them I didn't even get to say
goodbye to because it all happened so fast...
But I am grateful for the many
lifelong friends I made there. They blessed my life forever!
(This is our recent
convert, Martha, before we said goodbye. I love her so so much.)
And I promised Nha's family I would come back for their temple sealing next April. ☺☺
Change is hard but the gospel is so good!
Sofia took us to a nice
dinner on Saturday night before I left...
I love her, too!
Prior to my sudden
transfer, I went on my first exchange as an STL. It was pretty dang awesome. I
got to be with Sister Corbett! She is such a sweetheart and taught me so much.
We found a neighborhood where every street is named after Disney characters. I ❤ CA!
My new area is very high
end and super different from my last area! We are actually safe to run outside
and stuff, which will be nice! It appears the only problem is the fact that
there isn't a Chick-Fil-A... but I'll see who I can talk to about that one. 😉👍😁
Things are a bit difficult
here because there's not really a missionary to hand the area off to us like we
usually do with a transfer to a new area... But I am excited to stay with
sister Thomas and I am excited to work here! There are lots of good things in
store!
I love you all! The church
is true!
Xoxo
Love, Hermana Brooks
PIC: Our companion (while
still in the trio) is vegan, so she made us a vegan lunch. It was actually
good!
Love hearing from you. You will do awesome in your new area. Good luck to you!😉love, Grandma D
ReplyDeleteIt will be interesting to see if the "High End" people will be more or less accepting of the gospel! I'm sure you'll win their hearts over! That's just a trait/talent you have! Enjoy your new area! So fun that your companion could go with you! Love Gram
