July 2, 2018 ~ The Lord said…Repent, Come Unto Me, Believe, and Be Baptized and Be Saved (Week 51)

Hello my friends!

Today we are going to be beach.

Holla!!!

I'm convinced I have the best mission in the world.

Pictures to come.

(This pic was taken right after the baptism. So happy. 😁😁💕)

This week was a weird one for sure...

But the most important thing is that ANGELICA GOT BAPTIZED!!!!! 😄😄😄😄😄

It was super awesome.

As she was walking up the stairs out of the font, she smiled so big at Sister Thomas and I and said, "I feel so different!" We wrapped her in her towel and asked, "In what way?" To which she responded, "I feel so happy and clean!!"

And that, my friends, is payday for any missionary.

“For the Lord said…Therefore, repent all ye ends of the earth, and come unto me, and believe in my gospel, and be baptized in my name; for he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved…” (Book of Mormon, Ether 4: 6,18)

“And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.” (The Holy Bible, Acts 22:16)

The Atonement of Jesus Christ is real.

The church is true.

And seeing the smile on the face of someone you've come to love as they testify of such things will never cease to make your heart jump. 💜

So cool.

My companion was super excited about her first baptism. It will be the first of many for her. She's a spiritual giant.

I love her.
💜💜💜

This week we had zone conference (which was incredible),

a few days where my companion was sick (not too incredible),

a day of full service,

And a day full of different health appointments.

So, we didn't get to work much this week...

But we are pumped and ready for next week!

On Saturday, we had the opportunity to attend the patriarchal blessing of one of my recent converts in my last area. It was such a great experience!

Afterwards, we went to her house and met her mom, who is visiting from Mexico. Apparently, her mom is some kind of "healer". She does acupuncture and massages to activate certain organs, and I've heard that it works! Well, my recent convert knows that my stomach is constantly hurting from the gluten and the Mexican food that I eat here, and she asked her mom to heal me. Before I knew it, she was sticking sharp rocks into my ear and pushing them until I wanted to cry. Then she taped them where it hurt and told me to continue squeezing them until it didn't hurt anymore. I finally ripped them off the next morning because it still hurt and I was tired of being asked why I had rocks in my ear. 😂 While I have heard that the ear truly is a map to the body, I wouldn't say that I'm a huge fan of this type of treatment. My ear is still sensitive to the touch… 3 days later. However, she said she cleared me of all my issues, so maybe it was worth it. 😂😂.

Love this area. 💙

Love the experiences I've had.💚

Love the people I get to meet. 💛

Love the gospel. 💗

Love my Savior. ❤

Love you all. 💟

And last but not least, love the beaaacccchhhh. 😀😀🤙😎

(Dentist appt Part 2.
Stay tuned for next week.)

(Hector.

We went to his birthday party yesterday.)

I love him so much.)

(A picture of Elder Scott as he tried to break the missionary record of number of Habaneros eaten in one sitting. He did it, folks. The record was 13. He ate 15. Without stopping. You can tell by the picture that it wasn't pleasant for him. 😂😂. What a champ.)
