Sister Savanna Brooks in The Golden State

Hey everyone!   Here are some cool things that happened this week: 1. We visited a family who is incredible. They don't seem to have much interest in the church, but they invited us over for dinner and the mom and I have such a great relationship. She calls me her Sweet Savanna (lol... problem with having your investigators on facebook knowing my first name 😊 ) and always gives me mom hugs. When we walked into their home, I saw a piano in their front room, which hadn't been there before!! The mom turned to me and said, "God gave us a piano! Please tell me you play!"  Luckily, I keep a binder of sheet music in our car. I played a few songs for them and the mom said, "Wow, I feel so much love in our home now!!" I sheepishly thanked them for being the greatest fans and then said, "Okay, now I am going to play a song called, "I Believe in Christ" from our church. I hope you can feel my testimony as I play...

This week was busssyyyyy.  We taught lots  and did some fun service. My companion is great;  our wards are incredible;  I am happyyyyy!   "And if it so be that you should labor all your days in crying repentance unto this people, and bring, save it be one soul unto me, how great shall be your joy with him in the kingdom of my Father!"  (Doctrine & Covenants 18:15) Love you all!  Xoxo Hermana Brooks P.S. Hey Y'all. I am finally feeling better! Yay!! Thank you for the prayers. 💕   This week was crazy cool. I was reading in Mormon 9 (The Book of Mormon) about how God is a God of Miracles, who doesn't change.   I love verses 19-21, which say... 19 And if there were miracles wrought then (in times of old), why has God ceased to be a God of miracles and yet be an unchangeable Being? And behold, I say unto you he changeth not; if so he would cease to be God; and he ceaseth not to be God, and is a God of miracles. 20 And the reason why he ceaseth to do miracles among the children of men is because that they dwindle in unbelief, and depart from the right way, and know not the God in whom they should trust. 21 Behold, I say unto you that whoso believeth in Christ, doubting nothing, whatsoever he shall ask the Father in the name of Christ it shall be granted him; and this promise is unto all, even unto the ends of the earth. Wow, what a week.  I've been pretty darn sick, but I just got put on an antibiotic so hopefully this whole bronchitis thing goes away within the next few days :).  I've just been chillin’ at home, eating gluten-free corn bread and home-made chocolate Rice Krispie treats from my wonderful Aunt SaRene… so it hasn’t been horrible 😉 .   My new companion's name is Sister Haubner. She is from Missouri and has been out for 15 months. We get along great! Super happy and excited to work. This week we started teaching a family who is so incredible. The dad is a recent convert and the daughter is preparing to be baptized. We went over to their home with the intention to just teach the little girl, Emily, but we ended up teaching the whole family and it was amazing. They're preparing to go through the temple and guess what?! THEY WANNA MOVE TO UTAH! So that means I'll be able to see them easily after the mission! I'm so excited. Wow ...
